Features of regional vorkout: Orenburg is on the phone

Dmitry Lukin has been involved in physical training since childhood and paid special attention to his physical fitness. Five years ago he became a part of the large-scale vorkout movement and, as the athlete assured, he remains faithful to it to this day. Now Dmitry actively participates in the development of the vorkout community in his native city of Orenburg, organizes and participates in various competitions. Our hero is firmly convinced that even if you don’t have enough time to achieve global goals, you should always keep yourself in good shape.

Dmitry told “Championship” what is vorkout now, what are the peculiarities of this sport in Orenburg and where beginners should start.

– Dmitry, tell us, how popular is vorkout now?
– Today vorkout is a large-scale trend, and we can say that it is a whole sport, and the most accessible one at that!

– What competitions are there and do you often perform at them?
– Today there are a lot of competitions: from district competitions to world championships, which, by the way, this year was held in Russia, in the capital of our homeland, at the end of July. And I participated in competitions, in festivals, at sporting events – I took prizes. Frankly speaking, lately I have not been performing as often as I would like! But I actively participate in the organization of competitions and events on vorkout.

– What element can you call the most difficult of those you know how to do?
– My favorite and complicated element is “dragon flag” on the support pole with imitation of walking through the air. It requires powerful stabilization of the whole body. The goal is to keep the body flat and straight parallel to the ground, trying to avoid bends in the knees, failure in the lumbar region, providing a grip on the hands. The support should be clamped in the trapezius area.

– What can you say about Orenburg: how well developed is the movement in your region?
– The movement is developing in our region not at the highest level yet, of course, but every day there are more and more people who are interested in vorkout! At the moment there is a Youth Public Sports Movement “VORKAUTOREN”. In general, this direction attracts a lot of young people who want to do accessible sports. There are different forms of popularization: through educational institutions, children’s camps, streets, yards. We are trying to develop wrestling in our region.

– Are there enough specialized grounds and tourniquets for this?
– Tourniquets and specialized courts are not enough! In the city they can be counted on fingers, and in district centers and villages – even less. We need more large-scale platforms for holding events and competitions of city and regional level, and this will influence the development of vorkout.

– Not so long ago in your city there was held an event Datsun Picnic, within the framework of which there were competitions on vorkout. Tell us, what were your impressions?

– Datsun picnic was unforgettable! At the event there were zones for rest and entertainment, a large vorkout platform, which, to be honest, I couldn’t take my eyes off. There was a lot of entertainment for children: they cooked shish kebab, and went on a photo quest, and sang karaoke. Well, and, of course, there was sport: trainings, master classes, shows. The main event was a vorkout competition among both professionals and spectators.

Part of the large-scale project Datsun Picnic this summer were street athletics competitions, which not only attracted attention, but also made us think that we can start changing ourselves and our lives for the better at any moment and without special investments.

– Where should you even start doing vorkout? What should a beginner do?
– Very often people ask where to start. Well, of course, with desire! It is necessary to formulate a goal and start practicing. The uniqueness of vorkout is its accessibility. You can start training at home, and you should. Then you can go to any courtyard, to find tourniquets and bars. Nowadays there are social networks: there you can find all the information and contact the coordinator of the movement.

– But where can you find information on how to do exercises correctly? Do you need a mentor or is it public information that is available on the Internet, for example?
– If we talk about information about training, methods and techniques of performing exercises, then everyone gets it wherever they feel comfortable. Speaking for myself, I have two higher education degrees, one of which is pedagogical with the orientation “physical culture”. I am very familiar with the theory and methodology.

– What mistakes do beginners often make when they come to the court? What advice would you give them: what exercises should they start with?
– The main mistake of beginners coming to the site is overestimating their capabilities! You don’t need to do something difficult, in large quantities and so on. It is necessary to start training with a warm-up, this applies to an athlete of any status. It is necessary to make a training plan and clearly follow it.

Top 3 sites in Orenburg for comfortable vorkout training according to Dmitry Lukin:

1.SC Orenburg. Address: Novaya Street, house 17.

2.The platform on the territory of the Complex “Sarmat”. Address: Kulturnaya Street, house 1a.

3.Boxing school. Address: Pobedy Avenue, house 155.

The best exercise for a beginner is push-ups: it is very accessible, without equipment, it involves the use of your own weight. I advise you to perform it every morning, at least one approach at 50-60% of the maximum.

– In addition to exercises on the turnbuckle and bars, what should a full-fledged workout consist of?
– To achieve results, I advise you to stick to a certain training program. Training is individual, and therefore everyone is looking for their own. Training can include aerobic exercise (training, it is customary to allocate sets – a small period of time during which intensive work is carried out), that is, as we used to say, cardio. There may also be anaerobic loads (exercises, trainings in which the muscular apparatus works at the expense of energy obtained in the process of anaerobic glycolysis). Such training is periodic (muscles work for 0.5-5 minutes, after which there is a break. But this, of course, depends on the method you choose. Training can develop all physical qualities of a person: speed, agility, strength, flexibility and endurance. If to speak in detail, not only tourniquets and bars are involved on the site: these are all exercises with the use of your own weight, static exercises, exercises with additional weight. Training can be in any natural conditions: you can use stones, tires, any kind of supports. I’ll note one thing: vorkout is not extreme and there is nothing dangerous in vorkout training!

– Is there anyone else in your close environment who is fond of vorkout? Do you train together?
– Yes, and a great example of this is joint training with friends, and the main example is family training. We often train with my spouse, motivating each other. We organize jogs, workouts at home and on the street, in the courtyards.
