I want to go there: a fabulous hotel in the heart of the wild forest

The hotel, which resembles a volcano with powerful streams of water erupting from its crater, is located in the protected area of Hilo-Huilo under the majestic Andes mountain range.

The fairy-tale hotel enchants visitors with its beauty: the whole building of the hotel is “wrapped” in a fantastic blanket of moss and dense greenery of the Patagonian tropics, so it looks like a gnome’s house.

The architects were inspired by a local legend. It says that there is a magic mountain in the forest, but it is guarded by spirits. If a daredevil takes a risk and climbs to the very top, the mountain will fulfill his most important wish.

How is the hotel organized?

The main difference of this hotel from all others is that it harmonizes with the environment and does not harm the ecology. Only natural materials are used in the interior: black stone for the facade and wood for the interior decoration were collected from the reserve.

Interesting: the hotel has 13 rooms, each of which is named after a bird living in the reserve. And instead of the usual numbers on the entrance doors there are pictures of these birds.

According to the designers’ idea, the rooms of the Magic Mountain resemble caves: rough wooden furniture, logs and boards, curtains and bedspreads are simple and unpretentious. But at the same time the rooms have a cozy and quite homely atmosphere.

From the windows of the rooms you can see the mesmerizing scenery of the wild forest and the mighty Andes.

Do not forget that Chile is located in the Southern Hemisphere and summer there starts in December. That is why Russian prices for winter and summer are so unexpectedly different.

How to get to the “Magic Mountain”?

The beginning of the journey to the fabulous hotel begins in the capital of Chile – Santiago. From there you need to fly 800 km to the province of Valdivia, and the remaining 20 km will have to overcome on foot and by jeep. You can get to the hotel by a special rope ladder through the dense thickets of wild forest.
