No better than candy: 10 of the most calorie-dense fruits

It’s no secret that fruits are a treasure trove of vitamins, essential nutrients and minerals. While some are rich in fiber and water, others are full of natural sugars, fats and carbohydrates and should not be consumed in unlimited quantities. One of the reasons is the high calorie content. If you want to lose weight or suffer from diabetes, you should cut down on the following fruits and berries.

Figs

The caloric value of this fruit is approximately 75 kcal per 100 grams. Figs have many nutrients that are useful for the body, but you should avoid them if you are on a strict diet or have diabetes.

Banana

Bananas contain a lot of fiber, carbohydrates and important vitamins, but in one fruit – more than 100 kcal. If you want to lose weight, unlimited bananas per day is not the best solution. Although they are quite low in fat and protein, they are high in sugar.

Grapes

Fresh grapes are a great substitute for sweet snacks, enriched with vitamin C and useful minerals. But per 100 grams of this fruit is 65 kcal, and the sugar content is very high.

Coconut

Coconuts are rich in important minerals, especially manganese and copper. However, this fruit contains a significant amount of saturated fat, which can hinder rapid weight loss. A cup of shredded coconut flesh contains at least 466 kcal.

Prunes

Dried plum fruits are enriched with useful vitamins, as well as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and many other minerals. However, you should not eat them in large quantities, as there are about 240 kcal per 100 grams of the product.

Avocado

Avocados are rich in fats. But these are not saturated fats that can be found in most junk foods – it is low in sugar and cholesterol. Nevertheless, there are approximately 250 kcal in one fruit. If you want to lose weight, be careful with how much you eat.

Dates

There are about 280 kcal per 100 grams of dried fruit. Despite the large number of useful components, there are a number of diseases in which it is forbidden to consume dates: diabetes, allergies, chronic migraines. In these fruits there are almost no proteins and fats, but the sugar content is quite high.

Persimmon

Persimmon is not only delicious, but also very useful, and in addition, it can normalize digestion. However, its caloric content is 67 kcal per 100 grams. Persimmons are not recommended for diabetics and people with kidney and bladder disease.

Mango

One cup of chopped mango pulp contains about 100 kcal, so you should control the amount you eat. The fruit has high levels of fiber and vitamin C, which is certainly good for the body. But people who are overweight should limit mangoes in their diet.

Blueberries

Blueberries contain the highest number of calories among berries. One cup contains up to 85 kcal. Blueberries are rich in antioxidants and are good for the heart, brain, immune system, eyes and blood, but you need to be careful about how much you consume them.
