Athletes' new advertising contracts

Some chose superstars for new campaigns, and some chose 50 thousand athletes at once.

Athletes have always been an object of lust for brands: they have a large audience of fans and authority, are most often associated with a healthy lifestyle and are used to active social activities. Today we will tell you about some new partnerships that brands have signed with representatives of the sports industry.

Griezmann and Mango

Atletico Madrid footballer has a new contract, this time with a clothing brand. The Spanish brand, which is still more often mentioned as a manufacturer of women’s clothing, strengthens its position in the men’s market. Antoine will not just be the face of Mango – he took part in the development of the collection itself.

The new capsule includes pants made of satin and linen, double-breasted suits and jackets made of a mix of cotton and linen. All elements of the collection are designed in a minimalist style.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with a brand like Mango, with whom I have so much in common. The collection features extremely versatile and comfortable pieces that adapt to each person’s style. I believe this collection has a lot to do with the brand’s Mediterranean spirit and values,” said Griezmann.

The campaign plan is for 23 sports and 12 months. It is scheduled to launch in the fall of 2022. Institutions historically designed for black students will be the first to be included in the program, with all other colleges and universities gradually being added.

Leo Messi and Socios

The Argentinian’s new advertising project is to promote cryptocurrency company Socios in preparation for the FIFA World Cup to be held in late 2022 in Qatar. As a global ambassador, Messi will promote the campaign to his 400 million subscribers and will participate in several educational and promotional events.

Socios have partnered with Barcelona, Manchester City, Roma, Inter, Monaco, PSG and even Spartak. Leo, who became the brand’s first global ambassador, will receive $20 million over the three years of the contract.

“It was the result of a collaboration between myself, Yannis, Nigerian dye masters and Nigerian tailors – we were all connected via WhatsApp,” says designer Nii Okuboyejo.
