Tour cancelations. Which countries are already closed due to the coronavirus?

It is no secret that amid reports of the spread of the coronavirus, a number of countries have restricted or completely canceled passenger air travel. Rostourism on its website has published information on which countries are closed and what to do for those who have already purchased tours and air tickets.

Which countries have restricted entry?

Due to the epidemiological situation at the moment, China, Italy, South Korea and Iran are not recommended to visit. The list of countries with temporary restrictions on passenger air transportation from Russia includes Germany (all points except Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich), Spain (all points except Madrid and Barcelona), France (all points except Paris).

From March 16, air communication with all EU countries, Norway and Switzerland will be limited, except for flights from Moscow to their capitals.

In addition, traveling to Israel will not be easy either. A quarantine for 14 days has been imposed on foreign citizens entering the country. India, Nepal and Sri Lanka have suspended the issuance of visas or cancel existing ones. Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the US have imposed entry bans (in the US – from the EU, China and Iran).

The borders of Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania and Finland are expected to be closed.

Countries, after traveling to which you will have to stay under quarantine

Quarantine has been introduced in Moscow for Russians and foreigners arriving from China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, France, Germany and Spain. They will have to ensure self-isolation at home for 14 days from the day of their return.

Remember that during this time it is best to avoid all contact with people and public places. Take the opportunity to stay at home and enjoy, for example, watching a new TV series or reading a book.

What to do for those who have already taken tickets?

Many airlines have already introduced the possibility of refunding tickets or changing travel dates. Check, funds for tickets for canceled flights can be credited to the card automatically. For Russians who are already in Germany and Spain, Pobeda has organized special outbound flights to Moscow.

In case of purchasing a package tour to countries where there is a threat to the safety of tourists, you have the right to demand the termination of the contract and a refund of the full amount (before the start of the trip). However, if you wish to cancel a trip to a country where no such regime has been introduced, you will have to reimburse the tour operator for the expenses incurred.
