What can you eat if you are poisoned?

Poisoning is a pathological process that leads not only to intoxication, but also to dehydration, gastroenterological diseases, violations of the integrity of mucous membranes, damage to the kidneys and liver. Therefore, in order to recover, and not just get rid of symptoms, it is necessary to follow a certain diet.

During the recovery period, it is important to drink as much as possible – 2-3 liters of water per day. Better – water with electrolytes (but without gas), because during poisoning, the body loses a lot of moisture, washed out magnesium and sodium, the balance of which must be restored.

What you can not eat when poisoning

You should avoid products that cause you an immediate or delayed allergic reaction. It is definitely worth giving up fried foods that contain AGEs – proteins destroyed by sugars (an obvious example is the crust on a pie or roast meat).

Also remove from the diet porridge, soups, instant noodles, do not turn to the shop for shawarma and hamburgers, avoid sauces, canned foods, convenience foods, frozen foods, sausages. Try to cook on your own.

It is recommended to exclude for the entire recovery period coarse food, plenty of fiber, bread (even whole-grain), flour products. Sugar and sweeteners are forbidden. Teas and coffee are replaced by a decoction of rose hips, sugar-free compote and herbal collections.

Of course, remove for 2-3 weeks spicy foods, spices, smoked meats. Alcohol is temporarily forbidden, as well as juices, sodas.

What you can eat when poisoning

In the first days it is recommended to switch to enveloping food: lean turkey broth, pearl, buckwheat, rice porridge, you can boil gluten-free cereals (amaranth, sorghum, sago, quinoa), flaxseed kissel, infusion of rose hips.

Then you can add boiled, and preferably steamed meat (beef, turkey, chicken), steamed omelet.

Of fruits and vegetables: baked apples, bananas. Allowed potatoes (young), steamed zucchini.

Introduce products into the diet should be with the doctor’s permission, not earlier than ten days after recovery. Do not start with fried meat and hodgepodge on pork ribs. It is better to try to introduce fiber, cereals, vegetable oils. Then low-fat cottage cheese and kefir, ghee butter. Last of all, go back to alcohol and sweets.

Observe a certain diet is necessary not only in poisoning. For example, adhere to the right diet is mandatory in gastritis.
