Many girls enroll in the gym in pursuit of a slim and beautiful figure. And some, in turn, train, driven by the desire not only to “pump” their figure for the summer, but also to acquire useful skills applicable in life. Especially for such girls and there is fitbox – a mixture of martial arts, intensive interval training and self-defense lesson – in one bottle. What is it? And how does fitbox differ from conventional boxing? Let’s find out together in our material.

Fitbox is a group workout consisting of a combination of blows with hands and feet on a punching bag at a fast pace. What’s so special about it? The whole beauty of this training is that you get a load on certain muscle groups, complex physical development, the opportunity to learn self-defense skills in one session. However, do not think that everyone can do this sport. Such training is recommended for trained people with good coordination and basic physical fitness.

What is the difference from boxing?

There is a stereotype that boxing and all similar types of martial arts are native male sports. But this is not true, in our time a lot of girls give preference to this type of training, practicing classic exercises for punching speed and endurance.

Globally, there are differences between fitboxing and boxing. Girls do not often meet in the ring and do not find out who is stronger in sparring. Often this discipline is called “light boxing” or aerobic boxing. For one such session a person can spend about 1000 kcal. The whole essence lies in active punches and jumps. They help to develop endurance, which is sometimes so lacking in everyday life. In the classes you will get a strong intense load with almost no rest. Aerobic work with a punching bag is alternated with strength exercises.

What are the advantages?

  • Exercises are not only aimed at burning calories, they also correct your figure, making it athletic and trim.
  • Coming to the class, a person already knows approximately how much energy and calories he will spend during one workout. From 800 to 1100 depending on the load. The average workout lasts 60 minutes.
  • The fitbox trains the cardiovascular and respiratory system due to the lack of breaks during the exercise.
  • Fitboxing allows you to release accumulated negative emotions. This is especially helpful when you are stressed or feeling insecure.
  • The lack of sparring, painful incidents is a definite plus. Not everyone wants to fight, but many want to learn how to defend themselves.
  • At such classes you will be instructed and told how to hold a blow correctly, which also helps in learning the basics of self-defense.

Fitboxing is suitable for everyone

Despite the fact that the classes will be easier for people with good training, absolutely everyone without exception can attend training. Initially, you will be helped to choose your level of load. So fitbox is suitable for both beginners and professionals.

How does it happen?

First there is a warm-up, which consists of running, imitation of blows and stretching. After it, the trainer arranges the participants in front of a mirror and practicing dodges, moves or kicks. Pair work also takes place during the class, but it does not involve sparring. In a fitbox, participants “play” with each other. One person needs to touch the palm of the other, and the opponent must build a conditional defense. After such exercises, participants practice kicks on bags and paws, the final training – work with abs, padded swords and small weights.
