Habits can make a big difference in life. Often we don’t notice it, but even routines play a role. It can be anything, for example, a glass of water after waking up, exercise, stretching. We tell you what useful rituals are followed by famous girls from the world of sports.

People who are in touch with their consciousness are able to make decisions and manage their own lives, rather than complain about circumstances. They can smile when things are difficult and painful, and they know how to find the upside and benefit in everything.

As a teenager, I had a terrible eating disorder – bouts of bulimia, which led almost to anorexia. Then two wildest phobias were added to it, up to panic attacks and fainting: I was afraid of the subway (because of the crush it seemed that there was nothing to breathe and I could be trampled) and doctors.

It looked like this: my temples were pounding, my eyes were dark, and I felt hot. And if I realized that a visit to the white rooms was inevitable, I started crying, hysterics, the night before I could not sleep for several nights. I gave blood only lying down, with smelling salts by my nose, threatened to faint, but did not fall, of course. I didn’t have the courage to talk to anyone about it.

But I met someone who looked at me and said: “You are not controlling your mind, which means you are not controlling yourself, you need to meditate.” I didn’t know anything about it.

The practices seemed difficult and boring, but I liked the man, and I tried to practice at least a few minutes a day. I sat down, closed my eyes, breathed, thought about nothing and everything at the same time. At one point it seemed like I was going crazy, but every day, for 90 days (that’s the period I was given to develop the habit) I learned to be in contact with my consciousness.

And guess what? After a few months it became easier to cope with the wild, unconscious fear. In general, it became easier to live – my nerves got stronger, it became even harder to make me lose my temper. Gradually the problems with food went away.

Of course, I could call my most useful habit my almost complete refusal of sugar. But I will choose, perhaps, another one.

The habit of trusting people and seeing everyone’s positive qualities first. I’ve gotten better at interacting with people.

Prefer to inspire and be inspired rather than conflicted. Gaining more knowledge from those around me and respecting everyone’s opinion. And my most important change – I got married and had a beautiful daughter.

From early childhood my mother and grandmother instilled in me a love for literature. Thanks to them, reading became a habit that played and continues to play a defining role in my professional development.

Reading is a labor, and you can truly love literature (especially classical literature!) only if you get used to the process of learning it. That’s why almost every evening my grandmother or mother read different works aloud to me. I grew up, but the habit of reading remained, and I began to study literature on my own. That’s how I decided on my major subject at school, thanks to my habit of reading a lot I passed the USE in literature with 100 points, and then I got a red diploma of the Moscow State University Journalism Department.

My love for literature led me to journalism, and it helps me in my profession to this day. With books, the world becomes much more colorful and diverse, and to notice all this is very important when you work in creative professions.

For those who can’t choose what to read, I can recommend two wonderful books from the “non-banal”. “Paths of Heaven” by Ivan Shmelev – about the complexity of life and the desire for light. And “Swan Song” by Irina Golovkina – about people and life at a turning point in history.

I got several habits at once, which really changed my life qualitatively.

Here are some of them.

  • I always clean my skin thoroughly before going to bed and apply all care products. Even if I came back tired and very late. The same thing in the morning, no matter how much of a hurry I am in.
  • I watch my diet – as a result I lost a lot of weight and feel better.
  • Started exercising, again I lost weight and my back stopped hurting.
  • Since some time I read only paper books to have a rest from devices.
  • Started listening to audiobooks instead of music to “read” even when there is no time.

My useful habit – I started running in the morning.

It has a huge positive effect on me. Running is a kind of meditation, thanks to which I feel much more awake, I immediately get into an “on” state.

I used to feel very often as if I had not woken up, even with a normal sleep schedule, which made me irritable and not always able to control my emotions.
