Deakin University scientists have created pills that simulate exercise

How do pills that

The path to the perfect figure could become much shorter. But it’s not that simple.

Can drugs mimic exercise? How can it work?

We understand together with the doctor.

Sports are not liked for various reasons, and laziness among them is the lesser of evils. Some people can not train for health reasons. For example, because of heart disease, injuries or being overweight. It is assumed that the new invention of scientists from Deakin University in the United States can replace such people going to the gym. And for others, the discovery will greatly simplify the task. By tradition, we share with you the results of an interesting study.

The discovery will be revolutionary, including in the fight against diabetes and diseases of the cardiovascular system.

American specialists from Deakin University tested the drug on mice for eight weeks. Both groups of test subjects were fed, as they say, with anything. No diet – only fat and sugar. At the same time, only a part of the rodents received the “fitness pill” – they showed impressive results. Despite the caloric diet, the weight of these mice remained the same, and the blood glucose level decreased. The same mechanism works during physical activity. Actually, therefore, sport is considered an excellent prevention of diabetes mellitus and helps to reduce cholesterol.

What can be the consequences of such a drug?

On the one hand, the invention can affect certain genes, reducing fat mass and lipid content in the blood, and therefore the risks of cardiovascular disease. The drug also improves insulin sensitivity, which is important for diabetics and obese individuals. But despite the promising results, the effects of the drug are not yet fully understood.

For example, in the same experiment with mice, not everything went smoothly. Pills, as it turned out, in some cases increase the risk of cancer. Scientists do not yet know who is to blame and what to do about it. So the research is still ongoing.
