Where to go on vacation in Russia in the summer of 2021?

The unstable situation with the coronavirus pandemic is still preventing tourists from traveling to many countries. We do not despair and offer you a few places within Russia where you can have a great summer.

Don’t expect to see Sochi and Crimea in this list!

Astrakhan region

Astrakhan is a beautiful Volga city with a historical heritage. In the center, beautiful churches and civic buildings from the century before last have been preserved.

Separately, the region itself should be recommended for a visit. Natural riches available for everyone: Lake Baskunchak and the lotus valley. Salt lake Baskunchak with water of white-pink color not only amazes with its beauty, but also has therapeutic properties. And the lotus valley is better to visit from July to September to catch the blooming season.

Murmansk region

Many people go to the Polar Region in winter to get to ski resorts and see the white nights. But we recommend you to visit Murmansk and Kirovsk in summer.

At this time of year there are comfortable temperatures without sweltering heat. The region has a very interesting northern nature. In addition, in the Murmansk region there is a polar day, when the sun does not go below the horizon.

As for attractions, Murmansk is primarily rich in a variety of ships, icebreakers, monuments to sailors and naval museums. You can admire the seascapes from Abram-Mys Cape overlooking the Kola Bay.

Also worth visiting is the little-known Rybachy Peninsula. Here you can contemplate nature untouched by human hands.

Kamchatka region

The real wealth and wonder of Russia is Kamchatka. Here you can travel through the valley of geysers, look inside a volcano and even get acquainted with dangerous flora and fauna.

Fans of hiking and extreme recreation are definitely here. In the vicinity of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky you can catch fish, cook delicious soup, fly a paraglider and swim in hot pools. However, it is recommended to hire a guide or a guide. Meetings with bears are not excluded in Kamchatka.

Republic of Khakassia

Khakassia has a whole cluster of lakes. The largest of them is the mineral Belo. The water in these lakes remains fresh and cool even on the hottest days.

In the republic you can stay in a yurt, go to a bathhouse on the lake shore, try SUP-surfing and fish on fresh lakes. By the way, medical sanatoriums here are not worse than in Kavminvody. The beaches here are relatively uncrowded.

Sea of Azov

The advantage of this sea is that it is shallow. Already in May it warms up so much that it becomes comfortable for swimming. Also, many resorts of the Azov Sea have a sandy bottom.
