How much do hip-hop classes cost for a child? Athlete’s mom counts the costs

The most active and energetic children are most often enrolled in sports. Movement helps young athletes to open up, develop and acquire communication skills with peers and adults. Of course, the most important thing for parents is that the child likes what he or she is doing.

We continue our text series on the cost of raising child athletes. Today the mom of a hiphopper girl from Krasnoyarsk shared her experience with us.

Vasilina is a sporty girl, active and daring. But it is hard for her to adapt in a new place, to cross the threshold into the unknown. Hip-hop allows active children to channel their energy in the right direction, and modest and shy – to loosen up. In hip-hop there is more freedom of movement and improvisation than in other modern trends. Hip-hop teaches looseness, gives self-confidence. It is a dance of freedom.

Training clothes

For hip-hop classes, you do not need to buy special equipment. It is enough what the athlete will dance in.

Clothing as much as possible should be free, even baggy, so as not to restrain movements. Over the top usually wear a T-shirt or a T-shirt. We buy T-shirts from 2 thousand rubles. The bottom is wide pants, breeches or shorts. Also 2 thousand rubles.

The chosen clothes can be one or two sizes larger. This will provide greater freedom of movement. Inventory can be updated at will, different colors, especially for young fashionistas.

Shoes must necessarily be light, comfortable, stylish and beautiful. Heavy variants will restrain the athlete in training. The choice should be made in favor of sneakers or sneakers. We dance in sneakers. For good ones for dancing you need to give 5 thousand rubles.

Sports bag

Although the equipment for sports is not bulky, a sports bag or backpack is still needed. The cost of a bag from 2,5 thousand rubles.

Školenie

Vasilina studies at a private school, a subscription to dance classes is included in the total cost of education. Her daughter trains four times a week for 1.5-2 hours in a group lesson. If we consider hip-hop classes separately, without reference to the school, on average in our city such training will cost 3-3.5 thousand per month.

Tournaments

Vasilina participated in the dance tournament of the Federation of Street Dance Culture of Krasnoyarsk region two years in a row. The entrance ticket for dancers costs 500 rubles, and if parents want to watch the performance – 350 rubles.

My daughter’s first major traveling tournament is just ahead of her. In January we are going to perform in Moscow. The cost of participation for Vasilina is 1500 rubles. A spectator ticket costs 800 rubles. But since we live in Krasnoyarsk, we have to take into account flight and accommodation costs. We paid a total of 19 thousand rubles for round-trip tickets and a hotel.

Make-up and hairstyle

At the competitions, hair and makeup are optional: ponytails, braids, dreadlocks, buns, loose hair, bandanas and headbands. You can put bright lipstick on your lips and eye shadow on your eyes. We are going by ourselves, so there are no additional costs for hair and makeup.

Costumes for the performance

In the case of costumes everything is simple – you can buy the best option in the store and create a beautiful stylish image yourself or sew to order. In our case, everything is a little easier than, for example, with ballet dancers. But if you still decide to sew a suit to order, be prepared to give about 10 thousand rubles. For a costume for the competition in Moscow we gave this amount.
