“I was getting fat even from the smell of food”. A personal story about losing weight quickly and effortlessly

“To lose weight for me has always been a problem, because my body gets fat even from the smell. I have not tried any diets. And protein diet, and calorie counting, and a complete refusal of everything harmful, and the minimum portion size. Everything was in vain! Sitting on them was difficult, I constantly broke down and started again. Diet – don’t see the result – breakdown – weight gain. A vicious circle.

Then the diets were finally abandoned, I fell in love and gained 10 kg in six months. It became more difficult for me to move around, my favorite T-shirts became tight, and the reflection in the mirror was not happy at all.

Once on one of the forums, the girls and I decided to create a group of “Slimming girls to XXS”. One girl advised me ketodiet and interval fasting. This is a carbohydrate free diet where most of the foods I love could be consumed.

The diet included fats such as full-fat sour cream, coconut/cocoa/red palm/olive/ butter or avocado oil, eggs and lard, various meats, fish, seafood, offal, sausages, cheeses, any kind of vegetables, nuts and seeds. The list is suggestive, and most importantly, it’s all hearty!

Deciding that I had nothing to lose, I started the weight loss process right on vacation. I knew my original weight and began to slowly get involved. At first it was difficult, because I was also practicing interval fasting.

There are several variants of this type of diet: 18/6, 20/4 and 23/1. That is 18 hours of fasting and six hours for meals. Initially I chose this variant, but it seemed simple to me, so I switched to the variant 20/4. The first meal at 13:30, the second (last) at 17:30.

The first three or four days I was howling with hunger, especially when on the embankment every evening from every corner smelled delicious food, but my intentions were stronger than the desire to eat.

Certainly consuming fat and protein satiated me more than buns and sweets, and after some time on the diet, I began to have enough time until the next day to feel hungry again. Instead of dessert, I ordered the ketopasta, a nutty, chocolate and coconut flavored ketopasta reminiscent of Rafaello. It’s sugar-free and has very few carbs. I can eat a couple spoonfuls a day.

Bread was still sorely missed during the diet. There was nothing to put cheese and sausage on. But I solved this problem too. At first I ordered a ready-made keto bread mix, but I didn’t like it, so I took almond flour and started experimenting.

Eventually found a delicious keto bread recipe with bacon and cheese inside. It was also hard to give up cereal, pasta and potatoes. I saved myself with vegetables as a side dish.

After a month of vacation came home and the first thing I did was to stand on the scale. I could not believe my eyes – minus 12 kg! My delight was unbelievable.

I decided not to stop there. Now it’s the third month of my ketodiet. The results are getting better and better! And I am very happy that I found what suits me. In no case I do not encourage anyone to introduce such dietary restrictions, because it may not suit everyone. Therefore, it is better to consult a doctor first.

But as a physician, I don’t recommend using restrictive diets for long periods of time.

A ketodiet can be less nutritious in vitamins, minerals and fiber, which can cause deficiencies in some nutrients.

Risk: If dietary restrictions are not properly implemented, ketoacidosis, a life-threatening condition related to blood acidity, may occur.

Ketodiet may not be suitable for people with certain problems, such as liver or kidney disease, as well as pregnant women and children.
