Air Jordan 1

Now it’s a unique product.

For years, Nike has been fighting to keep its most iconic models. But year after year, designers continue to appear who create more or less approximate analogs. Now the smugglers are going to have a tough time.

On June 1, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued Nike officially registered certificates for trade dress designs of three models: Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 1 Low and Air Jordan 1 Low SE. It should be noted that the Air Jordan 1 Mid is not trademarked, possibly because it is similar to the AJ1 High in every way except for the “collar” height.

Because of this, Nike has a much greater ability to pursue brands or individuals who “counterfeit” a design or copy it without making significant changes to its structural composition.

The patent covers recognizable details on the surface of the sneaker (such as the lace hole panel and sole stitching) and their position relative to each other. The colors are not claimed as a feature of the model.
