Choose insulated models

Choosing skates a size larger is not a good idea. If only because it is very traumatic – the boots can dangle and insufficiently fix your foot. If you plan to skate in open areas, it is better to initially choose models with insulation.

Take a closer look at the metal. Quality material has a matte shade, there are no scratches and inclusions on it. High-carbon steel is more expensive, but such blades do not rust longer and remain sharp.

Check for anatomical inserts

Among recreational skates, you can find models with anatomical inserts that will make skating even more comfortable. The sole made of such material is created taking into account the peculiarities of the human foot and allows you to feel the sliding on the ice much better. And the anatomical tongue, for example, contributes to better fixation of the shin and softens the pressure of lacing.
