What is the usefulness of kombucha? How to prepare kombucha at home?
Kombucha is a trendy drink from the distant past. In Soviet families, a three-liter jar with tea mushroom was often found, and the drink first appeared 2 thousand years ago in China. Scientific research has proven that tea mushroom is rich in useful substances for the human body. Now in stores there are many varieties of kombucha: with raspberry, mint, basil, with ginger and turmeric.
What is useful kombucha
A healing drink based on tea mushroom is an ideal substitute for juices and lemonades in the heat. The main advantage of kombucha is its probiotic “character”: it restores intestinal flora after antibiotic treatment and effectively strengthens the immune system.
Fermented drink improves digestion and stimulates metabolism. Kombucha is a natural source of prebiotics and a favorable environment for their reproduction. The drink helps prevent the development of gastritis and ulcers.
Regular consumption of the drink:
- normalizes blood pressure and cholesterol levels, which protects against the development of atherosclerosis;
- eases the course of type 2 diabetes (tea mushroom should be infused with sugar-reducing herbal collections);
- relieves insomnia and improves the quality of sleep;
- calms the nerves and improves concentration;
- eases the course of menopause;
- increases energy levels.
How to prepare kombucha at home
Pomembno: If you want to prepare the drink yourself, pay attention to hygiene and sterility. If the body (upper part) of the mushroom has become dark, it can not be used – the mushroom is clearly “sick” due to violated rules of sanitation. When cooking, strictly observe sterility.
Potrebovali boste:
- hot water – 1 liter;
- leaf tea (black or green) – 5 g;
- sugar – 75 g (2 tbsp);
- kombucha (mushroom, SCOBY) – 1 pc.
Preparation method
- Pour hot water into a sterilized liter jar, dissolve sugar in it and pour the tea.
- Let the tea cool to room temperature (25-27º C).
- Strain the tea and place the tea mushroom in the jar.
- Cover the jar with gauze or a towel. Leave to ferment for 7-10 days in a well-ventilated place at a temperature of about 24ºC, without direct exposure to sunlight.
- Carefully remove the tea mushroom, strain – and you can drink.
I recommend drinking kombucha separately from food. It is desirable 1-3 hours before a meal or 1-1.5 hours after a meal.
Optimal volume – 200-300 ml of the drink two or three times a day for both women and men.
Prepare kombucha and replace with it the usual kvass, lemonades and juices. Let this summer be not only tasty, but also useful! Take care of yourself and be healthy.
