It is important to remember – it is impossible to control external circumstances and people’s reactions. But you can find harmony by becoming wiser. Which means that happiness is not far off.
Some people easily take themselves in hand, forgetting about negative experiences. And others begin to wind themselves up even for trifles. What is it connected with?
Why do we worry about trifles
Most often seriously worry about even the smallest things is peculiar to people who make high demands on themselves and strive to meet them. They are accustomed to plan everything, keep under control. Any changes perceive extremely painful. But not always plans can collapse only through their own fault, there are external circumstances.
It can also come from childhood, when the child was made excessive demands: the house must be perfectly clean, in school only “5”, etc. He was often punished or ignored requests. All this leads to anxiety and worry about anything.
How to stop worrying
1. Give yourself permission to be non-ideal. We can all make mistakes and that’s okay. If plans change – change and you with them, adapt, learn to be more flexible to circumstances.
2. give yourself support. It is important to stop criticizing yourself. You need to listen to your desires and satisfy them as much as possible. Pamper yourself as often as possible, get more rest.
3. Be physically active. This is a great tool to relieve anxiety. Even a small load will significantly reduce the level of cortisol. You will immediately feel calmer.
4. Learn to release tension. You have to learn how to do this in order to reduce your anxiety levels. Do meditative or breathing practices. Effective exercises to do on your own:
- square breathing. Helps you focus on the here-and-now moment and relax. Slowly inhale, count to four, then hold your breath for four counts, exhale, count to four and again hold your breath for four counts. A few minutes is enough to feel the harmony;
- a technique to relieve high anxiety. On a piece of paper write out everything that worries you. Then this sheet should be burned, looking at the fire, feel how you are released from all your worries, how they burn in the flame. If there is no possibility to burn it, you can just tear it and throw it away.
