During the pandemic, many luxury brands suffered a lot of losses due to a lack of sales of items suitable for everyday wear. So now they are making up for lost time and producing sportswear for workouts that can be combined with other styles of clothing.
Premium brands have also started to develop fitness equipment, collaborating with companies that have been specializing in it for many years. We tell you more about these novelties.
Dior sports equipment
Dior together with Technogym, a company that specializes in the production of equipment for fitness, presented a collection of designer sports equipment. Sales will start in January 2022, but we already know what will be included in the collection: a treadmill, exercise balls, a weight bench and a full set of dumbbells with Dior branding in different weights.
The preparation of sports equipment was invented for a reason. In the same year 2022, the brand will launch its line of sportswear, which was designed by Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri.
Valentino woven sneakers
Valentino presented a collection of men’s sneakers with a woven upper, made using macramé and crochet techniques. Fashionistas saw them for the first time at the presentation of the spring-summer collection during Paris Fashion Week.
Details for each pair were handmade by Italian craftsmen for 10 hours. The sneakers are available in several colors: burgundy-orange, gray-yellow, all-black and gray.
Hermes fitness collection
This season Hermes has pleased fitness lovers with a new collection, which includes sets of sports pants and shorts-bermudas, basic T-shirts and tops with a cut-out on the back in a wide range of colors: bright red, navy blue, pistachio, muted orange and white.
Also featured are leather boxing gloves and white sneakers with inserts that match the color of the sports uniforms. The models in this promo video perform gymnastic stunts and show off the brand’s bracelets on their arms, proving that sport can find a place in high fashion.
New Prada Fall/Winter Collection
The new Prada Linea Rossa sports collection was presented to the public in the Beyond the Line campaign shot by the famous photographer Hugo Comte. The concept of the line is described as “an invitation to cross the line and push the boundaries of what is possible”.
The collection features tight-fitting longsleeves with a zipper collar, leggings, short down jackets, vests and solid boots. Prada’s key colors for this winter will be white, gray and black.
