Daily training on the bars led to a world title. The story of Andrea Laros

This young man’s name is Andrea Larosa. He is from Italy, he is only 23 years old, but already at such a young age the guy is a professional calisthenics athlete, a world champion in this discipline and a fitness coach.

The Italian started practicing calisthenics in July 2013. According to the athlete himself, the gym where he was practicing kickboxing closed down, so Larosa decided to continue training on his own to stay in shape. At home, he did not have any exercise equipment, so he went to the nearest tourniquets in the park. Over time, Andrea became so passionate about the sport that he continues to practice it to this day. Since 2015, he has managed to become a national and international competition champion, and in 2018 he became a world champion.

In 2019, Andrea decided not to compete anymore. “I just want to enjoy my training. I really think that the biggest competition is always with yourself. So I decided to take a break for a while. What will I be doing? My mission is to keep training and motivate as many people as possible to live a healthy lifestyle.”

World’s best tablet

Andrea Larosa trains four to five times a week. If he needs to learn a new exercise or perfect a certain technique, the Italian adds one more training day. From now on, he trains twice a day.

When asked: “What is your favorite exercise?”, Andrea answers with a smile: “I love all exercises.” He may love all of them, but the planche (horizon) is truly his favorite. It is this exercise that Larosa trained for a year and then performed with it at all kinds of competitions. In performing this element the athlete achieved high results and rightfully bears the title of “king of the planche”.

Andrea performs the planche in different types: on one hand, on hands, on fingers and on fists. It looks mesmerizing:

By the way, the world champion shares simple exercises to learn this element:

Andrea’s tips for beginners

  • Learn to enjoy training.
  • Master the basic exercises, including pull-ups and push-ups. It is important not to overdo it, everything should be done in moderation.
  • Be patient.

Does Andrea use supplements in her diet? Yes.

I have my own routine and I do use supplements. Supplements are not mandatory, but I have found them to be very helpful. It is very difficult to eat right every day when you have to measure out carbohydrates, fats, and proteins.
I also tend to eat a lot of healthy snacks for athletes throughout the day: protein cookies or bars.

Like most athletes, Larosa has suffered various injuries. In 2017, the Italian seriously injured his shoulder. It is rumored that it is this injury that bothers the world champion even today.

Recognition on the internet and lightning-fast popularity

Andrea Larosa was not very eager to make himself known. But it so happened that he became a celebrity. The athlete simply shared his workouts and tips on social networks, and the Internet immediately began to talk about him, spread videos and voila – today he is one of the most famous people in wrestling. Laros’ Instagram profile has 403 thousand followers and his YouTube channel has almost 230 thousand followers.

I was lucky enough to become a professional athlete. My whole life is about training, photo shoots, and keeping up with social media.

As soon as Larosa became popular, many subscribers expressed their desire to train according to the athlete’s author’s methodology. For this purpose, the Italian created his own website, where he sells different training programs. The cost of services varies from 30 to 120 euros.

But Larosa wants to go further. Perhaps we should also wait for an autobiographical book.

If people like it, maybe I can start thinking about sharing my knowledge through some e-books or something similar. We’ll discuss this endeavor some more.

Andrea is doing well without competing. The Italian continues to train and post exercises on social media. But we would still like to see the athlete in competition mode. Laros’ subscribers missed the crown plaque and gold medals.
