Desperate workouts: how Eva Longoria, 45, keeps in shape

Eva Longoria celebrated her 45th birthday this year. Although most people know her for her role as Gabrielle Solis in the iconic “Desperate Housewives,” her portfolio is far from limited to TV series. In recent years, Longoria has produced movie projects and even took the director’s chair on the set of “Grand Hotel”.

Despite the busy schedule, the actress has time not only to devote time to her young son, but also to watch the figure. Eva regularly trains and publishes videos of her exercises in “Instagram”. How does one of the desperate housewives and what is the secret of her slimness even after so many years?

Yoga and intense strength training

In 2018, Eva became a mom for the first time and gave up heavy loads for a while. “My body created a new life, so I didn’t try to get back in shape at any cost,” she says in one of the interviews. But the actress could not last long without sports and soon returned to the usual fitness routine. For Longoria it is – intense strength training.

Among her favorite exercises: dumbbell standing dumbbell raises in an incline, exercises on exercise machines with cables and TRX loops, as well as classical exercises with additional weight. Judging by the published videos, Eva pays special attention to the muscles of legs, back and arms. The result of diligent training can not be denied.

Eva herself admits that she prefers variety in training. In addition to strength exercises, she does not refuse from cardio, yoga, running, Pilates, soulseeking. “I do a lot of things and constantly alternate between different types of loads,” notes the actress.

Homemade food and no restrictions

Surprisingly, Longoria does not stick to any particular diet and does not refuse certain foods. In her diet can be found absolutely any food, including falling out of the category of “healthy food”. For example, the actress could never completely give up alcohol.

I “drink” my calories, not “gain”. Every time I go jogging, when I see how many calories I burned, I think: well, it’s about two glasses of wine.

She loves cooking and knows how to cook and always does not mind to experiment in the kitchen. The only rule is no guilt. Here’s what Eva’s menu for the day might look like:

Breakfast: chilaquiles – a Mexican dish with fried tortilla chips, salsa, beans and cheese.

Lunch: homemade pasta.

Snack: olives, potato chips or other salty snacks.

Dinner: light soup.

The only thing that is not often found in Longoria’s diet is sweets. The actress is not particularly fond of desserts – simply because she prefers to snack on something salty. And between a cake and a glass of beer will invariably choose the second. “This is one of my favorite ways to relax after a hard day at work,” – confesses Eva.

Longoria’s experience once again proves that there is no universal “beauty recipe” that would work equally effectively for everyone. Everyone finds their own comfortable training schedule and selects a nutrition plan that suits them.

“Everyone thinks there’s some secret that helps you look good. But there really is no secret – just nutrition, workouts and commitment to your goal,” assures the actress.
