3 types of people who can be an example for everyone

“What can I do for you?” – is one of the most effective beginnings for self-presentation, suitable for both networking and more informal introductions. Why so? The age of speed dictates its own rules: maximum benefit in minimum time. When talking about ourselves, it is important to outline where and how we can be useful to our interlocutors. And who can be useful to us? Let’s find out.

What useful things can we take from different types of people for our own productivity?

The well-known principle of effective communication win-win, literally translated as “win-win”, means: everyone benefits from the communication, everyone has their own benefit to be in this contact.

And this is ecological communication, which actively replaces toxic communication (when one seeks to snatch from the other what he needs without giving anything in return).

Children

How can we, as mature adults, benefit from children, for example? We can learn so much from children that it is time to give up the position of “parent”, “teacher” and take the position of “student”.

A child acts from an inner feeling, directly, freely. He does not betray himself by saying “what I am feeling right now is wrong, I’d better pretend it’s not there,” or “what is in front of me right now is not bad but good. This adult hypocrisy is uncharacteristic of children, they are sincere and true to themselves.

This is something that we adults are quite capable of integrating into our lives. Psychologically speaking, give equal rights to the “inner child”, the “inner parent” and the “inner adult”. Think of a situation when a child asks for what he wants: he may do it carefully and a little shyly, but more often he does it persistently and without doubt that he needs and deserves it. He does not doubt the importance of his needs.

But an adult doubts, and very often it leads to the accumulation of frustration, frustration, apathy, loss of interest in life, depression. How can an adult adopt this confidence? Tap into your “inner parent” and give yourself permission to do what you need to do (as long as it is not harmful to others and is legal)

Awareness of your experience. What you know now is valuable experience and it is your responsibility to honor it, to embrace the knowledge and competencies you already have. From time to time remember all your achievements, and not just “for a tick”, but mentally go back to those moments and re-live them. This is your resource.

Respect for other people’s position. Often age is associated with wisdom, and this is no accident. Notice that the older generation can be more loyal to the opposite opinion. Although there are extremely categorical personalities – but this is already an individual fold of character, which under certain conditions is emphasized on negative traits. But in general, a wise perception – when I am “ok” and you are “ok”, everyone has the right to his own truth – is very helpful in life and career.

Athletes

Now let’s turn to those who have dedicated their lives to sports – athletes and coaches. Is there anything you could learn from them for your own benefit? Of course! – Motivation to win. Participation for the sake of participation is unsportsmanlike. Participation for the sake of winning is a strong motivation to work hard to achieve it.

Today they often talk about flow, about letting go – that yours will come to you anyway, even if you don’t do anything about it – but this is a passive position.

Belief in your own strength is another important thing that athletes can teach us. Coaches nurture this quality in their students. It is a skill that can be developed in oneself: of course, it is easier to do it with a coach. That’s why coaches have appeared – so-called “psychological coaches”, who through a certain methodology also help a person to build up self-confidence and come to the result.

To summarize, I would like to note: an intelligent and attentive person will find benefit everywhere and will be able to bring this benefit himself, of course, realizing the very principle of effective win-win communications.
