This week, from September 21 to 24, Rosa Khutor will host the annual fall festival New Star Weekend – 2023. Hiking with Anton Belyaev, movie screenings, cycling in the mountains, concerts and a DJ set at the waterfalls – we tell you why you should not miss one of the largest events in the world of music, culture and sports.

Outdoors for connoisseurs of beauty

Party Hike with Anton Belyaev will be an exciting adventure at New Star Weekend. On September 23, the participants of the hike in the company of a star guide will ascend along mountain trails to a height of 1600 m above sea level. The final point of the route will be an experimental stage where Anton Belyaev will perform.

The unique skate ramp in the shape of a huge wave and the street community created around it will become a special point of attraction. In the atmosphere of the cult Baltic skate-spot Pretty Poison a series of amateur and pro competitions in the format of a spectacular jam will be held here. In competitions where the main thing is style and the ability to “read” the figure, the best riders will get prizes. Another spot for fans of extreme recreation will be BMX Action. Several asanas at the group yoga will help to restore energy between activities.

Those who wish to test their strength and set a personal record will be able to take part in the Alpine road race from Rosa Dolina to the Mountain Olympic Village. PEAK CLIMB RIDE 1100 will unite cycling enthusiasts of different levels on one track and will become another vivid memory.

Musical Immersion

The New Star Weekend linap features more than 50 artists. WOZHD ensemble will open the festival with a mixture of ethnics and electronics on Vibes Stage. BLIZKEY, Medjikul, fck stereotypes duo and Symbol live band will also play here. An impressive audio-light show Sila Sveta X BIICLA awaits the audience on the Main Stage from the headliner and leading multimedia design studio. Also performing on the Main Stage at the Alley of Flags will be Metro Station Gorkovskaya, ESSAII, Kedr Livanskiy and Flaty.

The night life of the festival will be centered on the helicopter platform reimagined by international studio SETAP, where Mashkov, Errortica, Reptiloid, residents of Mutabor, Arma17 and others will play at the Escape stage under the starry sky. Local DJs and representatives of the southern scene will traditionally play at Local Stage.

DJ Izhevski will play a set against the backdrop of thousand-year waterfalls on the Waterfall Stage.

Vacation with taste

A food court will appear at the festival for the first time. In the courtyard of one of the restaurants there will be food trucks where you can taste local specialties. This is where participants will meet at a big table to get acquainted and taste local cuisine.

The festival merch shop will offer custom souvenirs, official merch and essentials, and access to meet the artists. This creative and multifunctional space will be located in the archway between Flag Alley and Pear Restaurant.

Rider’s Lodge will host conceptual movie screenings. The movie theater’s poster includes P.J. Harvey: A Dog Called Money, Rave in Iran and Studio 54.

This year’s New Star Weekend will bring together creators who will breathe new meanings into familiar places. Thus, several art objects will appear at the festival.

How to get there and where to live?

The year-round resort Rosa Khutor is located 50 km from the Adler International Airport in Sochi and is convenient for transportation. There are direct flights from different parts of the country and foreign cities. There are also direct trains to Sochi from all parts of Russia. For those who decide to go to the resort by private car, on the territory of the lower base of the resort “Rosa Dolina” there are several parking lots with a total capacity of more than 1500 cars.

The most convenient option for accommodation for this weekend will be hotels located at an altitude of 1100. Staying in the Mountain Olympic Village, you will always be in the epicenter of events from early morning until late at night. For those who prefer sleep and silence, hotels at the lower level of the resort – in the Rosa Valley, on the bank of the Mzymta River – will be suitable.
