Uzbekistan

Three autumn months are the most attractive period for traveling along the “silk road” of Uzbekistan, from Samarkand through Bukhara to Khiva. This is an excellent option for the first acquaintance with Central Asia: each of the cities is unique and distinctive, while boasting a high level of service and hospitality.

In Samarkand, be sure to check out the Registan, in Bukhara set aside time for a steam and massage session in the legendary medieval baths. And in Khiva, think about how the cities that for thousands of years managed not to become the theater of hostilities and to preserve the heritage of several eras in pristine condition look like.

Turkey’s Mediterranean coast

Not too original, but the fact is that autumn is ideal for a lazy vacation in the Turkish resorts of the Mediterranean Sea. Firstly, the tourist flow sharply decreases, and you won’t have to fight for a place on the beach. Secondly, the air temperature drops to comfortable values, and the sea does not cool down until mid-October.

Finally, the beginning of fall in Turkey is the harvest season, which means an abundance of ripe red pomegranates, sweet figs and green tangerines. No exotics – just a comfortable vacation within reasonable expectations. Sometimes this is more than enough.

Morocco

Morocco is also a story mostly about beach vacations, but with many different additions. Tangier will diversify your vacation with an amazing panorama of the border of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea in Gibraltar, and Essaouira – an aesthetic vacation in the company of jetsetters (elite rich party) from around the world against the backdrop of landscapes from “Game of Thrones” and the blue and white Medina.

In addition, Morocco’s active surfing season kicks off in mid-autumn, inviting everyone to get on a board under the guidance of experienced instructors and top-notch surfers.

Cambodia

Despite the surge of interest in Cambodia, there are still many times fewer tourists than in Thailand or Vietnam. And for nothing: Cambodia is cheaper than its neighbors and, in my opinion, more interesting. For a walk around Angkor alone, the capital of the ancient Khmer Empire, it is worth laying down at least three days. And it is better to focus on the end of fall, when the risks of capturing the rainy season are minimal.

At the same time, you should be ready for everyday difficulties and do not expect supernatural comfort from the country. To summarize: there is no service in Cambodia, but there is hospitality. And this sets the country apart from its more “touristy” neighbors.

Boka Kotor Bay, Montenegro

“The southernmost fjord of Europe”, the Bay of Kotor has a unique microclimate, thanks to which it does not lose its attractiveness throughout the year. But the fall on the Adriatic is special – warm, in a good sense “empty”, very tasty. And infinitely beautiful.

In the velvet season Kotor slowly and cozily falls asleep, going into energy conservation mode. No beach parties and loud tourists – just the quiet charm of the old town, measured Balkan everyday life and a focus on simplicity. The perfect place to regain your energy before an active winter.
