I have many times faced situations when a fisherman in spring, deciding to save money, buys the first 310 cm boat and a 5 hp boat motor, and in summer he runs to change the boat to 360 cm and a 9.9 hp motor. All because it is more comfortable. After all, only when you get into real conditions, you realize what is really valuable, and the question of budget gradually recedes into the background. The described format is still within the amount of up to 300 thousand rubles.

Big water – seas, oceans, large lakes, reservoirs and powerful rivers – this is where it is not only about comfort, but also about safety. Here my words are confirmed by the results of our experiment on the Kama reservoir, where the elements like to go wild. Here it is simply vital to buy the best, including swimming aids.

Sometimes even in the reservoir the waves can reach 1.5 meters, what to speak about the sea or ocean. Such “waves” on the big water are safest to overcome boat motors with a capacity of at least 100-200 hp and medium and large size boats with a closed deckhouse. Thanks to such a set, you just glide along the ridges, bypassing the rocking. Naturally, the amount of such transportation is already close to 10 million rubles. But the life of the fisherman and his crew is completely safe.

Who is suitable for fishing for 300 thousand and 10 million rubles?

So, the budget of 100-300 thousand rubles is a great start for those who finally decided to get out of “fishing from the shore” to “fishing on the water”. For this amount you can buy an inflatable boat – for example, at 335 cm – a boat motor up to 10 horsepower and fishing equipment. As a rule, you can also go out to sea with small boats and low-power motors, but don’t go too far from the shore. In the event of a storm, there is a risk of not returning. Before going to sea, it is best to check how many kilometers you are allowed to sail from land in your region and on your vehicle.

Fishing for 10 million rubles, understandably, is suitable for those who, firstly, the budget allows and who have already “grown up” from budget boats. Secondly, you live and fish in the territory of big water – for example, in Kamchatka, Sakhalin, Murmansk, Primorye, the south of Russia, near the Volga and Lena. Thirdly, fishing is not just a sporting interest for you, but also a hobby and, perhaps, a status. On boats you can comfortably travel for a couple of days with a company of 4-8 people. Just imagine, you are fishing with all the technical tricks, and your friends and family are having a nice time sunbathing on the deck. A dream life!

Why do fishermen still prefer expensive fishing?

Experienced fishermen still prefer to go out on the big water on boats and powerful motors, renting them from local bases.

First of all, seas, oceans and large rivers are a new level of pleasure. The fish here is vigorous, the nibble is sharp, the variety of aquatic life is great, which means there is a chance to explore their behavior, and also to sharpen fishing skills and get a good portion of adrenaline. And, of course, on such water, as I said above, powerful watercrafts are more of a necessity than a whim.

Secondly, more expensive vessels are now almost all equipped with the latest technology. You are not afraid of engine failures, rocking, shoals – you control everything on the dashboard with remote control and sensors.

Thirdly, it is style and comfort. On big boats you feel as if you can’t cope with the elements. There is a cabin for resting and a deck to actively spend time. Such transportation is usually equipped with electricity and even a shower. If you plan long passages on the water area, these things are indispensable in general.

The choice of budget or expensive fishing is left to you, and your skills are not always the deciding factor here. Only through experience can you truly understand where your golden mean lies.
