These five cities are among the top five most eco-friendly and comfortable to live in 2019.

Vienna

This city has long occupied the first positions in various ratings of cities. There are 990 parks there, developed infrastructure, and the government regularly invests in the development of social projects.

Vienna has a large percentage of cars with hybrid or gas engines, and many residents choose bicycles, electric cars and scooters. The city has a low level of air pollution – in April 2020 it was even awarded the title of the greenest city in the world.

Zurich

The transportation system is quite comfortable, so there is no special need to buy a car – you can move either by bicycle or by public transport.

Many streets have solar panels for generating energy. In addition, the city has 785 gas stations for electric cars – more than in other German cities.

Hamburg has a very well developed system of garbage sorting. Everywhere there are containers for different types of waste, and they separate them not only into glass, plastic and paper.

Madrid

In the capital of Spain, there is a special online platform where residents can vote and support important initiatives. Thus, in Madrid, projects are being implemented to create open-air gyms, landscaping of squares.

The city is actively fighting smog: in recent years, due to the transition to electric buses, the level of air pollution has decreased by 38%. For the convenience of owners of electric cars in the city 122 electric gas stations have been built. There are also many parks in Madrid.
