How to prepare homemade sugar-free marshmallow?

Fall is a wonderful time when apples of different flavors and varieties are in abundance. At this time, many people bake charlotte, make apple puree, make compotes. But this is not all the dishes that can be prepared from apples. For example, from these fruits you can make homemade pastilles. In flavor, it is not inferior to purchased, but much healthier. Such a treat for tea will leave only pleasant impressions – and no extra pounds (if you eat it in moderation, of course).

You will need:

  • apples – 1 kg;
  • citric acid or lemon juice – a couple of pinches/drops;
  • water – 100 ml;
  • cinnamon, nutmeg, nuts, ginger – to taste.

Apples can be taken any, even second-rate. The main thing is that they should not be spoiled. Wash the fruits well and dry them. Peel them from the peel and cut out the core. Apple slices are immersed in acidified water (for this we use citric acid or lemon juice). This way the fruit will not darken.

Then transfer the apples to a pot with a thick bottom and add 100 ml of water. Bring to a boil and stew until the fruit is completely softened. Then chop the softened apples with a blender to a puree.

Place the puree on the prepared parchment sheet. You can add cinnamon, nuts, nutmeg or ginger. Each sheet of marshmallow can be a different flavor.

We put in an oven heated to 50-60 degrees and dry until completely dry with the oven slightly open or the desired elasticity (but not less than four hours). You can also dry in a berry and vegetable dryer.

Remove the marshmallow from the parchment and slice. It can be packed in cling film and stored for a long time in a dry place.

Those who need to be quicker, it is worth using a microwave. But in this case, remember that in the microwave the edges dry faster than the middle.
