Nike has created uniforms for the women’s national teams. For the first time, they are different from the men’s

In the summer, France will host the Women’s World Cup. And if earlier such tournaments were given minimal attention, now everything has changed. And help to bring women’s soccer to a new level sports brands, which pay special attention to the creation of sports equipment for girls.

Nike has developed uniforms for 14 women’s national teams, which will fight for the main soccer title in the summer. The kits were presented on March 11 in Paris – the show was attended by about 300 employees of the fashion industry and media from all over the world. And believe me, such a large-scale presentation was not organized by any men’s national team. It was very impressive.

Previously, the women’s outfit was a complete duplicate of the men’s, but now the uniforms are much different from those in which the men perform. A huge team of designers worked on the creation of unique models in the space of Nike Sports Research Lab for several months. They collected the wishes of female athletes, studied female physiology, and then conducted research with the help of 4D-scanning. This allowed them to capture body movement at 250 frames per second and establish all the details, right down to the areas of profuse sweating.

“We know that a soccer player’s body is different from the average person, so it was important for us to develop something truly unique. Men prefer tight uniforms to feel like superheroes. It’s different for women. We paid special attention to the design of the jerseys: they are loose, with a high collar so they can take it off comfortably,” Casey Luker, the designer of the uniform, said at the presentation.

France

The host country received some of the most beautiful kits. The home one is presented in the classic blue color, while the away one is in white with blue hexagonal enclosures, a reference to the country’s unofficial nickname. All details on both kits are in rose gold color. The inside of the jersey features the slogan: “We are different, but we are united by it”.

USA

The USA national team uniform has something in common with the one the girls won the 1999 World Cup in. On the back of each kit there is a gray print with the name of each of the 50 states – very symbolic and patriotic.

Netherlands

The peculiarity of the Dutch kit is that on the jersey is added a graphic
ornament in the form of the country’s symbol – the tulip.

England

The home kit is made in traditional white colors, but the designers added a small touch to the uniform: there is a dark red stripe along the edge of the sleeve. On the jersey, in which the team will play away, there is a print with typical for England colors – poppy, primrose, willow-tea.

Norway

Nike was inspired by snow and winter jerseys when creating the uniforms for the Norwegian national team. Hence such an unusual ornament on the home kit.

Also together with the uniforms were designed bracelets, which the players can wear under the uniform. Fe/Nom Flyknit is made using the same technology as the “knitted” Flyknit sneakers, which were light, tight and almost seamless.

The top took about 600 hours of biometric research to create. The end result is a soft and comfortable bra that is virtually unsusceptible on the body.
