Not a day without a workout: what happens to your body if you exercise every day?

Everyone knows that regular exercise helps to keep the body toned and has a positive effect on the emotional state, as it helps to get rid of accumulated stress. But how will your body react if you exercise every day without a restorative weekend? Brandon Romaine, a fitness blogger from the USA, decided to test it on his own experience.

What was the essence of the experiment?

Brandon decided to organize daily classes and closely monitored the changes that occurred with his body. The guy trained mainly with the High Interval Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) system, which consists of alternating walking and sprinting for half an hour. In addition, the blogger visited the gym a couple times a week and performed abs, back and leg exercises.

Brandon also adhered to a special diet, which implied a daily intake of 3000 kcal: 200+ grams of protein, 200+ grams of carbohydrates and 50-70+ grams of fat.

At the end of the first week of the experiment, Brandon didn’t notice any major physical changes. But he felt he was stronger mentally: “I notice how HIIT workouts and any other challenges affect me, I can see progress.

On the nineteenth day, alternating between walking and sprinting became much easier. The blogger noted that he had become much more enduring and had significantly increased his running speed.

On the last day of the experiment, Brandon showed himself “before” and “after”. Despite the fact that all month he tried to gain mass, he, on the contrary, managed to dry up. “I think the daily workouts helped me not to get fat. At first, the weight stayed where it was for a long time, then I even managed to lose a little weight. Also, I finally got abs.”

How do you start working out every day?

Brandon’s example can’t help but inspire other people. After such an example, you want to test the effectiveness of daily workouts on yourself. But what do you need to know before you start experimenting?

Christian Haria, a famous calisthenics blogger (Calisthenics is a system of bodyweight exercises aimed at developing functionality, strength, speed, and coordination. Ed. note), also exercises every day. In his opinion, anyone can master daily workouts. The main thing is to keep a balance and listen to your own body. You can not bring yourself to exhaustion, and it is best to alternate between strength training and cardio.

“It is very important to initially make a training program. You can train every day, from Monday to Monday, you just need to keep a balance: start the week with intense training, and end with more “light”. And don’t make yourself exhausted: if your body is tired all the time, you won’t make progress,” Christian advises his followers.

The blogger’s strength training routine looks like this:

  • warm-up;
  • power output on rings + push-ups from the bar + pull-ups (drop set: 5-10-10, 7-7-7);
  • deadlift;
  • planche push-ups;
  • simple push-ups (5-6-7).

If you’ve long wanted to challenge yourself to try working out every day, you shouldn’t put it off. However, remember, to achieve real results, it is not enough just to exercise, you must also watch your diet and generally maintain a healthy lifestyle.
