Vin Diesel is 55! How the athletic actor lives and trains
Surprisingly, the star of “Fast and Furious” is prone to fullness.
Mark Sinclair, that’s the name of the actor who is known to us under the pseudonym Vin Diesel, celebrates his 55th birthday today. His excellent physical form has become a calling card and one of the factors through which he achieved recognition.
Vin Diesel’s training program
In his interviews, the actor has repeatedly said that as a child he was relatively tall and had a lean physique. Already in high school, he began to deal with his body and got a job as a bouncer in one of the New York clubs.
I built my body in regular street gyms, using the old tried-and-true technique – a regular barbell and bench press. I needed to look massive and even dangerous.
Over the years, Diesel has built his own system of training, which helps him stay in shape even after 50 years. The main principle is consistency.
The training system is based on working with every part of the body. “First I load it with heavy basic exercises in two or three sets, then I finish isolating in 10-12 repetitions,” – shares with fans actor. To increase muscle mass Diesel uses large weights with a small number of approaches, rest between which is two to three minutes. Obligatory in the training cycle of the actor are half-hour cardio exercises.
Vin Diesel’s program for gaining muscle mass implies three weekly strength training sessions, as well as classes of various types of cardio (running, swimming), yoga or Pilates on rest days.
Nutrition
Keeping fit becomes more difficult as we age, and gaining weight by increasing muscle mass is especially difficult. Because of the changes in metabolism, Vin Diesel pays special attention to nutrition. Here are a few principles that he shared with fans:
- The actor follows a diet low in fat, high in protein and carbohydrates. At the same time, he monitors the glycemic index;
- daily meals are divided into six to eight portions of 300-500 calories per serving;
- the main sources of protein in Vin Diesel’s diet are chicken and lean beef, the sources of carbohydrates are vegetables, fruits and baked potatoes;
- before filming, when it is necessary to add relief, the actor reduces weight by using a high-protein diet.
One of the main criteria of success Vin Diesel considered first of all his discipline in both nutrition and training.
