“A morning run makes your day better. Because nothing worse will happen to you.” Blogger Yana Zolotova was sure of that, and decided to check what would happen to her body if she jogged for 30 days in a row. Despite the rapidly growing popularity of a healthy lifestyle, many people still associate running with painful fulfillment of school standards and the fact that it does not bring any physical and aesthetic pleasure.
Why do runners torture themselves in the morning?
Jana used to be skeptical of those who engage in daily jogging. And gave an example of a man who every morning winded laps around the stadium. The girl even wondered if all runners are not in some kind of sect, because voluntarily raping the body in the morning – insanity.
Frenzied motivation seemed to the girl something unreal, so she decided to check whether she could withstand such loads and what it would threaten her. And in parallel, Jana wanted to adjust the regime of the day, which she had a lot of knocked down. After all, in theory, if you constantly run in the morning, by the end of the day you get tired, which makes you go to bed earlier and get up earlier.
First 20 minutes, then 40 minutes
Yana started very cautiously. For the first few days, she went outside at 10am and jogged for no more than 20 minutes. It doesn’t sound too impressive, but for a person who is taking her first steps, this is quite a normal duration. And after a couple of days the blogger increased the time up to 40 minutes, during which she managed to run 5 km.
At the same time, Yana admits that she used to do cardio training in the gym, so she had a certain level of endurance. After the first week the girl got used to running, and she even started to like it! And only seven days ago she was ready to call runners sectarians. Now she joked that she had joined a “running sect” herself.
Run in parks, not stadiums.
Despite her budding love of running, Yana ran into a problem. The stadium where she ran was home to a soccer team. The coach of the young boys categorically forbade her from jogging during their lessons. The girl did not argue and went to a nearby large park. And felt a huge difference.
No trainers who can sass at any moment, no boring stadium scenery, repeating every minute. Our heroine lives in St. Petersburg, so the park where she decided to continue her classes has a priori beautiful views. “I began to get high from running,” Yana confessed after one of the runs on Krestovsky Island.
Cottage cheese instead of sweets
Next is more. Previously, after exercise, the blogger wanted to go to the store and buy sweets, because she deserved it. Now after a couple of weeks of jogging on the street, Yana went to the store and unexpectedly bought… two packages of cottage cheese. And this is despite the fact that she never liked cottage cheese. Remember the phrase at the beginning of the text: running makes your day better, because nothing worse will happen? So now Jana wanted the new day to come sooner. So she could once again do her favorite thing.
How did her body change after daily jogging?
As it turned out, running has a number of miraculous properties. Jana says that after the first 10 days she noticed a big change. Her skin condition improved, she lost about 2 kg. And, most importantly, her general well-being became different: the constant feeling of fatigue disappeared, there was a great motivation in work.
Besides, the blogger confesses that running made her voluntarily get up at 8 am. Nothing else in the world could motivate her to do this. Now by 10 a.m. the girl already has time to exercise, swim, have breakfast and in a cheerful mood to be ready for work and other things. Before the Challenge, she could still sleep at this time, and if she woke up, she was in a broken and unproductive state.
After completing the 30 Day Challenge, Jana became so passionate about running that she considered participating in a half marathon and even a marathon. The girl told more about the 30-day experience in the video.
What do you need to do before you start running?
It is very important that running brings physical and moral benefits. And if with the moral everything is pretty obvious, then with the physical you need to be more careful. Before you start actively training, it is strongly recommended to consult doctors: check the joints, heart and everything else. And only then carefully start jogging, gradually increasing the load.
Many people are shy to exercise on the street, because they are afraid of the slanted glances of pedestrians passing by or drivers of passing cars. The truth is that they are probably jealous of you. And even if they laugh, what do you care about those with whom you will never cross paths again in life? You’ll have a good body and a great mood.
