The sound of skates breaking the ice is one of the main motifs in the symphony of winter. To immerse yourself in the festive and fairytale atmosphere, you can go to a skating rink and enjoy every moment of the frosty season. And to make the choice easier, we have prepared a selection of the most beautiful paid skating rinks in Moscow.

“GUM skating rink”

Bright lanterns, fairy-tale atmosphere, smooth ice and incredible New Year’s decorations – all this has found a place on the main square of the country. One skating session here for an hour will send you, if not into childhood, then into a New Year’s fairy tale for sure. Everyone can rent skates or bring your own, which can be sharpened right on the spot.

Where: Red Square.

Opening hours: daily from 9:00 to 23:30.

Prices: the first four morning sessions on weekdays are free, the rest for adults will cost 700 rubles, and for children (from seven to 12 years old) – 300 rubles. On weekends and holidays – 800 and 400 rubles respectively. A free ticket is available for children under seven years old, provided that an adult ticket is purchased to accompany them on the ice. For pensioners, a session on weekdays costs 300 rubles, and on weekends and holidays – 400 rubles. If you need to rent skates, children’s skates will cost 300 rubles, and adults – 500 rubles.

Ice rink on Revolution Square

This skating rink is one of the venues of the traditional festival “Journey to Christmas”. Incredible shows take place on the ice: “The Nutcracker”, “The Golden Key” and “Snow White” are already waiting for their audience. Outside of the shows, anyone can skate on this ice by renting skates or bringing their own.

Where: Revolution Square.

Opening hours: weekdays from 11:00 to 22:00, weekends from 10:00 to 22:00.

Prices: you can visit the skating rink for free as part of the city project “Moscow Seasons”, but you need to register at the link beforehand. The cost of their rental skates for one session – only 50 rubles, but it will be necessary to leave a deposit of 2000 rubles.

“PROlyod”.

High-quality ice, pleasant winter atmosphere and the sound of skates accompanied by music – all this awaits you at one of the oldest chamber territories in Moscow. Even the paths leading to the monument to all lovers are covered with ice.

Where: Hermitage Garden.

Opening hours: daily 10:00-23:00, breaks 12:00-13:00, 16:00-17:00, 20:00-21:00.

Prices: the entrance ticket on weekdays costs 300 rubles, for persons of the privileged category the price is lower – 210 rubles, children under seven years old can pass for free. There is also an option “Complex ticket”, it is 300 rubles more expensive and includes a two-hour skate rental.

“City skating rink”.

A distinctive feature of this place is the opportunity to skate with a view of the skyscrapers of Moscow City. And bright lights and garlands will help to create an entourage and a sense of fairy tale.

Where: Krasnaya Presnya Park.

Opening hours: Mon-Fri 10:00-22:00, Fri-Fri 10:00-23:00.

Prices: discount ticketsare free, also children under six years old can visit the skating rink without paying. Entrance ticket costs 300 rubles, schoolchildren and full-time students can get on the ice for 250 rubles. A complex ticket with skate rental costs 650 rubles.

“Mega Ice”.

The open-air skating rink is decorated with garlands and is already waiting for fans of active winter recreation – don’t miss the opportunity to skate on clean ice in the company of friends and family.

Where: Paveletskaya Square.

Opening hours: daily from 12:00 to 22:00 (break from 15:00 to 15:30 and from 18:30 to 19:00).

Prices: an entrance ticket for 60 minutes for children will cost 400 rubles on weekdays and 450 – on weekends, adults for an hour of skating should pay 450 and 500 rubles respectively. Skate rental here will cost 300 rubles.

“Dreamers”

This skating rink is located in the sports heart of the capital – in “Luzhniki”. Here you can not only skate on good ice, but also listen to music, take part in contests, in general, spend time in a sporty and pleasant way.

Where: 24 Luzhniki St., p. 4B. 4В.

Working hours: mass sessions are held at 17:30 and 21:00. Sometimes there are other available times, you can check the schedule on the website.

Prices: an adult ticket will cost 500 rubles, if you need to rent skates, then a complex ticket costs 1150. For children from seven to 13 years of age, the entrance with their own skates is 250 rubles, and with rental – 700.

“Silver Ice”.

This is not just an ice rink, but 3300 square meters of ice surface, supported by refrigeration units, and 8000 square meters of natural ice. The attraction here is not only the scale, but also the opportunity to use the help of skaters who will gladly teach you how to skate. You won’t be able to do double tulup and axel from the first time, but you will definitely get pleasure.

Where: Izmailovsky Park.

Opening hours: Mon-Fri 10:00-22:00; Fri-Fri 10:00-23:00 (break 15:00-16:00).

Prices: on weekdays a day ticket costs 400 rubles, evening skating from Monday to Thursday – 450 rubles, and from Friday to Sunday – 600 rubles. You can skate in the afternoon on weekends for 550 rubles. Rental of adult skates costs 300 rubles, children’s skates – 250 rubles.

“Giant”

Free skating rink with a natural and smooth ice surface. A large circle is available for the main flow, but children can skate on the branch, which minimizes the risks for the youngest. Don’t worry if you don’t have skates, rental is available right on the spot.

Where: Sokolniki Park.

Opening hours: 10:00-22:00 (each skating session is two hours, after it there is an hour break).

Prices: free of charge, skate rental for one session costs 400 rubles.

“Flight in Time”

This year the skating rink celebrates its 10th anniversary, and the theme is “Flight in Time”, so skating here you can only make plans and dream of a bright future. It will not be boring for sure: on almost 9000 square meters of ice you can see several historical pavilions at once. And for beginners and children there is a safe “quiet skating” zone.

Where: the main avenue of VDNKh.

Opening hours: Mon-Fri 11:00-15:00, 17:00-23:00; weekends and holidays 10:00-15:00, 17:00-23:00.

Prices: the first category of tickets – adult, from Monday to Thursday daytime session will cost 400 rubles, and evening – 600, on Friday prices rise to 500 in the afternoon and 800 in the evening. On weekends, a ticket will cost 600 and 800 rubles respectively. Children’s ticket (from six to 14 years old) to the main rink on weekdays costs 200-300 rubles depending on the time of the session, on Friday the same tickets will cost 250-400 rubles, and on weekends you will have to pay 300 rubles for the afternoon session and 400 – for the evening. A ticket that includes skate rental costs 500 rubles more.

“Skating rink of culture and recreation”

One of the largest and most popular skating rinks in the city. Its area is 16,000 square meters. All along the way you will be greeted not only by beautiful natural scenery and historical monuments, but also by incredible light decorations that will definitely decorate your photos and create a festive atmosphere.

Where: Gorky Park of Culture and Recreation.

Opening hours: Tues-Fri 10:00-23:00 (break from 15:00-17:00); Mon – day off.

Prices: for a morning session from Tuesday to Thursday, lasting until 15:00, an adult must pay 400 rubles, and a child – 250. On Friday, the price rises slightly: 450 for an adult and 300 rubles for a child from seven to 14 years old. On weekends, February 23 and March 8, a session in the daytime will cost 650 and 400 rubles, respectively. On New Year’s holidays skating will cost 1000 rubles for an adult and 600 rubles for a child.

For evening sessions, from 17:00 to 23:00, the price is higher: from Tuesday to Thursday an adult ticket costs 650 rubles, and a child – 350 rubles, on Friday evening the entrance for an adult costs 850 rubles, and for a child – 400 rubles. Saturday, Sunday, February 23, March 8 – on these days the price is also different from the usual, an adult ticket costs 850 rubles, a child – 450 rubles. Evenings on New Year’s holidays at the rink cost 1100 rubles and 700 rubles respectively. You can rent skates for 400 rubles.

It remains only to decide which skating rink to go to. Do not forget to dress warmly, because after such a vacation should remain only pleasant impressions, not colds.
