Winter is coming: 4 outfit options for the gym and outdoors

Sportswear has long been fighting for the right to be not only comfortable, but also beautiful and aesthetic. And, it should be noted, most modern sports brands succeed. The choice of equipment in winter and late fall directly depends on your training location. Think about it and decide for yourself: how often will you visit the gym or jog at the stadium near your home? Or maybe you just need to create a basic sports kit that would be a versatile solution for different activity options?

For the material, we, together with our colleagues from the multi-brand sports store LEAP, have selected a few options of equipment for all occasions. Do sports in comfortable clothes and feel like you’re on the carpet in Hollywood!

Create a basic outfit for sports

Kit: tights, t-shirt, windbreaker, running shoes with good tread.

What it’s good for: jogging outside, working out at the gym.

What to add: if you are going to train in the gym, you can remove the top jacket and add a sports top (bra), short socks and a sports headband.

For jogging outdoors, you should add a longsleeve or fleece sweatshirt to this basic set as a layer between a T-shirt made of special breathable sports material and a windbreaker, high socks (in order not to chill the calf muscles) and a thin hat (ideally a two-layer hat, so that it is both thin and warm), if desired, you can add shorts as an additional layer to the Tights.

Training regardless of the weather

Set: warm tracksuit, T-shirt made of special breathable material and sneakers for training.

What it’s good for: outdoor training, crossfit.

What to add: the base for this set can be compression underwear or a standard set: a longsleeve of special material and tights. The very material from which the suit is made, well retains heat, but does not protect from strong gusts of wind. Therefore, if your sports field is located in a well-blown area, we advise you to add a light windbreaker as a top layer.

Run to the stadium

Set: Tights, sweatshirt, T-shirt made of special breathable material, sneakers and gloves.

What it’s good for: for running outdoors in any weather, you just need to complete the basic set with everything you need.

What to add: first of all, you should be guided by the weather, you may need to add a longsleeve layer between the hoodie and the T-shirt for even more layers, or limit yourself to a windproof windbreaker on top. A hood will protect your head while jogging in the fall, in colder temperatures we recommend wearing a hat or cap (in case it snows or rains outside). As a top layer, you should put shorts on over your tights, choose their length depending on your preferences. Do not forget to also add high socks to the set.

This is interesting: Under Armouris a relatively young brand. In 1996, 23-year-old Kevin Plank, who played for the University of Maryland soccer team, finished his sports career and opened his own business. The initial capital of the company – 17 thousand dollars, the laboratory – grandmother’s basement, the idea – to make waterproof underwear for athletes, which would not absorb sweat and was light and comfortable. The first customers were former university teammates, on whom Plank tested prototypes of his HeatGear® T-shirts.

A set for real girls

Set: sports top (bra), tights, cropped sweatshirt and sneakers for training.

What it’s good for: gym workouts, dance workshops and group fitness classes.

What to add: You can add a headband or wristband if you need it, and replace the tights with any of the 9 Nike Pants Studio models, each perfect for the type of activity you’re planning to do (running, cycling, boxing or dancing, for example).
