What are antioxidant products and who needs them?
The main task of antioxidants is to fight oxidative processes in the body, in which cells are destroyed. But these molecules are very active and perform a number of other functions:
- helping cells to repair themselves;
- slow down the aging process;
- strengthen the immune system;
- optimize metabolic processes in the body;
- reduce the risk of heart disease;
- protect the body from harmful radiation, including ultraviolet light.
Several products will help to compensate for the lack of antioxidants.
浆果
Forest berries – blueberries, cranberries, currants, lingonberries, raspberries – contain antioxidants-polyphenols, which protect cells from damage and prevent the growth of cancer cells.
Black currant juice is the strongest antioxidant compared to other berry juices. Blueberries also contain a large amount of antioxidants.
Cranberries are rich in substances that prevent blockage of blood vessels. This berry helps to regulate blood pressure.
Parsley
Flavonoids found in parsley fight free radicals (substances that destroy other cells). They also have a disinfectant and calming effect. Normalize blood circulation and support the functioning of all organs and body systems.
Parsley contains various antioxidants, including vitamin C, P-carotene, phenolic compounds and amino acids that provide defense to the body and help fight cancer cells.
Cauliflower
Cauliflower is also high in antioxidants, vitamins and plant fiber. Therefore, it:
- acts as an anti-inflammatory agent;
- reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease;
- improves digestion.
The antioxidants in cauliflower help to eliminate free radicals from the body. Also, this vegetable regulates blood sugar levels. Read about other such foods in the article at the link.
To maximize the antioxidants in cauliflower, I recommend eating it raw, blanched or steamed.
Cinnamon
The spicy spice is rich in antioxidants and other health benefits.
- It reduces the risk of cancer.
- Has anti-inflammatory properties.
- Strengthens the immune system.
- Prevents the development of chronic diseases.
- Slows down the aging process.
In the rating of antioxidants among all foods, spices and herbs, cinnamon is in seventh place. This spice has more antioxidants than thyme, garlic and rosemary. In addition, cinnamon is good for men’s health.
Garlic
It has powerful antioxidant properties and fights free radicals. It also reduces the risk of colds and flu and protects the immune system.
牛油果
Avocado’s plant fats protect against DNA cell damage. Avocado’s antioxidants – vitamins C, E, carotene, selenium and zinc – reduce the risk of age-related eye problems. We talked about foods that improve eyesight in a previous article.
Avocados also help regulate blood sugar levels and protect the liver from damage.
Beef liver and heart
The offal is rich in antioxidants and also contains important vitamins: PP, B vitamins (especially B12), biotin, vitamin C. Of the fat-soluble vitamins, beef liver has vitamin A, beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, vitamins D, D3, E and K.
In addition, the beneficial acids in liver and heart improve carbohydrate and fat metabolism.
