This year Moscow will celebrate its 871st anniversary, and we will be celebrating for two days – September 8 and 9. The program is packed with all sorts of interesting events, including concerts, festivals and historical performances. We have compiled the most sporting selection of the capital’s upcoming weekend events.
Luzhniki
“Luzhniki” will be one of the main venues of the City Day celebrations. Family sports competitions will start as early as 10 a.m., and throughout the day the visitors of the sports complex will enjoy master classes of famous athletes, performances of dancing couples and concerts for fans of various musical directions. You will be able to pump your abs to Kasta, Max Korzh, Polina Gagarina and even Lesopoval.
On September 7 and 8, the championship of Russia on moto freestyle will be held here. The event will be held with the support of the Department of Sports and Tourism of Moscow, the Motorcycle Federation of Russia and PC “Ferz”. The strongest athletes from all over the country will come to the capital to compete for the cup and the title of champion.
In addition, the festival of extreme sports Moscow City Games will cheer up the festive capital. The strongest BMX and MTB riders of the planet will ride on a huge run-up. We promise, it will be spectacular.

Tsvetnoy Boulevard
At noon on September 8, the charity festival “Good Moscow” begins its work. The largest charitable organizations will tell you who needs support and share socially significant problems of the capital. Gogol’s House
Another site will be the square near Gogol’s house on Nikitsky Boulevard. Here you can join a bicycle and scooter tour around Gogol’s places and even do yoga.
Kuzminki Park

A. Raikin Culture Center
Pharmasyntez Russian Open 2018, an international squash tournament among professionals, will be held in Moscow on September 6-9, 2018. The glass court will be installed in the OpenAir Theater of the A. Raikin Center for Culture, Art and Leisure named after A. Raikin. For a few days, this unique theater platform will become a place of attraction for professional players and squash fans. Here it will be possible not only to watch the matches from the stands, but also to try your hand on the court by taking part in free sports events.
