Every day new cases of coronavirus infection are detected in Russia. The number of people infected with COVID-2019 in our country has already exceeded a thousand people. Today it is more important than ever to know about precautionary measures, to take care of your own health and the condition of your relatives and friends. Elementary rules of hygiene and healthy lifestyle will help us in this.
Together with the sports doctor of LabRehab recovery center 易卜拉欣-奇比切夫, we have prepared a small test that will help you find out what are your chances of getting infected with the virus. Of course, the results of the survey do not indicate a hundred percent probability of getting sick or avoiding infection. They just let you know if you’re doing the right thing in quarantine or if you’re taking a big risk.
Why did I get this result?
In compiling each question, my doctor and I looked at why we need the precautions that are so often talked about nowadays. And here’s what we found out.
Age and chronic diseases
In this regard, everything is simple: the younger you are, the less risk of infection. Even if a person in his 20s or 30s catches the virus, he is likely to carry it easily. In the risk zone are people who are 65 years old and older. Chronic diseases, especially hypertension, diabetes mellitus and obesity can also be an aggravating factor.
About place of residence and public places
Moscow, the Moscow region and St. Petersburg have the highest number of infected people. That is why it is not safe to be in public places in these cities, as there is no possibility to keep a social distance there.
About coming from abroad
The average incubation period of the virus lasts 14 days. In some situations, it can last up to 24 days. If you were abroad a month ago and did not feel alarming symptoms, you can rule out the coronavirus factor.
About hygiene
You should wash your hands once an hour and treat them with an antiseptic solution. And the process should take from 30 seconds to two minutes. Why such great attention to the hands? Because they touch absolutely everything – it is the most contact part of our body.
It is desirable to wash food under warm running water without using antiseptic and general means – so that there is no poisoning. And wet cleaning should be carried out once a day to maintain household hygiene in the house. All garbage is best disposed of immediately. You should also maintain optimal humidity and temperature. Ventilate regularly and keep the air as humid as possible.
About sports, nutrition and bad habits
Exercise involves physical activity and an increase in metabolism and immunity. This provides a sort of protective barrier. Thermo-contrast procedures and hardening can also help.
In nutrition, you need to refrain from harmful products. This is usually fatty, fried, spicy and salty. There should be a fractional and balanced diet. It is also recommended to consume products containing vitamin C. For example, lemon and rose hips – they stimulate the work of the adrenal glands.
And, of course, it is worth minimizing bad habits. Alcohol and smoking weaken the immune system, rather than being preventive measures. The most optimal would be a glass of red dry wine as an antioxidant product at dinner. Or no more than 50 grams of hard liquor. And high dosages lead to our liver, pancreas and immune system being at risk.
