What to watch. 10 best hockey movies

We continue our column “What to watch?”.

Today we offer you a list of “hockey” movies. It includes 10 movies, each of which tells not only about legendary matches, but also about the lives of great hockey players.

“Legend #17”

The movie “Legend 17” povetsvuet about the legendary Soviet hockey player and forward of the USSR national team Valery Kharlamov. He was one of the leading Soviet hockey players and more than once recognized as the best player in the country. The picture is based on real events. In addition to the life story of Kharlamov, the movie also tells about the legendary match between the USSR national team and Canada.

“Mystery of Alaska.”

At the center of the picture are the residents of the small town of Mystery in Alaska, who love hockey. The town even has its own team. “Miracle.”

On February 22, 1980 at the Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, a match between the Soviet Union and the United States took place. Later it became known as “Miracle on Ice”, as the US team unexpectedly won. The movie tells about how the head coach of the U.S. team Herb Brooks gathered a team that managed to defeat the legendary USSR team.

“Mighty Ducks”

The movie “Mighty Ducks” tells about a rather successful lawyer Gordon Bombay. Once Bombay sat behind the wheel drunk, after which he was sentenced to community service. Gordon is appointed head coach of a not very successful children’s hockey club. The main character will have to make professionals out of the guys and play with them in the finals.

“Bouncer”

The main character of the picture is Doug Glatt. Once, together with his friend, Doug decides to go to a hockey game, where he gets into a fight with one of the hockey players. After this incident he gets a call from the head coach of the hockey team, who offers him a job.

“Champions.”

In the picture “Champions” tells about five outstanding Russian athletes. Biathlete Nikolai Kruglov, snowboarder Ekaterina Ilyukhina, speed skater Svetlana Zhurova and figure skaters Anton Sikharulidze and Elena Berezhnaya are the heroes of the movie. The fifth story of the picture is dedicated to the famous hockey player Ilya Kovalchuk.

“Kings of Ice.”

A youth movie about a boy, Jano, who moves with his father to a small town in Quebec. The boy plays hockey well, because of which he receives an invitation to the local team. After thinking about it, Jano decides to accept, but not all members of the team accept the newcomer well.

“Young Blood”

The only dream of the young hero of the movie Dean is to become a professional hockey player. The guy, along with his brother and father, lives on a small farm, so at first it seems that his dream is unrealizable. Unexpectedly, he still gets a chance to play for a professional hockey team.
